My problem is, that years ago during my travels I bought a Hardware1.0 Matrix21 router which I like very much.
But it seems, during the last firmware update something happened and either the firmware or the flash memory went wrong. Because I can not send this router to any service point (there isn't any close to me), I decided to repair it myself.
Currently I can see one method only: remove the flash IC from the router which contains the firmware and try to re-flash it in an external device. But to do it, the normal, downloadable flash file is not suitable. If anybody could help me with a description how can I prepare the flash content from the downloadable image (for example calculate checksum, remove header from the file, etc.) or has a Hardware1.0 Matrix21 router and able to read somehow a complete flash content, I would appreciate it.
I am looking for any kind of help, which can be managed without sending the router physically.
