ATI releases Catalyst 6.3 drivers
ATI has released new Catalyst 6.3 drivers for Radeon graphics cards. The new drivers apparently improve performance by 5-10% in Call of Duty 2, and fix a number of bugs in various games, including Battlefield 2, Quake 4, World of Warcraft, and Serious Sam 2.
In addition to bug fixes, the Catalyst 6.3 drivers also include the Avivo Video Converter, which leverages GPU resources to speed video encoding to a variety of formats, including H.264/AVC, MPEG-4/DivX, WMA, and MPEG-1/2. The Avivo converter requires the .NET Framework, Catalyst Control Center, and the new AVIVO Video Converter Engine package, all of which are available at ATI.com.
