PDF-XChange Viewer 主要能夠在 PDF 文件上加上註解文字、文字刪除線、高亮文字、文字底線、框線、線條、圖形、戳記、使用自訂印章等，更能將編輯後之文件儲存成新的PDF文件(而且無任何廣告水紋)還能做文件 90 度旋轉，複製PDF文件中任何部分儲存成新的影像圖形格式或PDF文件，這些功能以前是要在 Acrobat Writer 上才會有，另外也支援多頁籤的瀏覽方式，使用者可以開啟多個文件相互切奐。
PDF-XChange Viewer也設有預覽功能，用戶可無需打開檔案，直接預覽檔案內的PDF文件，十分方便。另外，它同時支援繁體中文、簡體中文、英文等多國語言，安裝之後自動顯示中文介面，它也能將全頁或選取局部快照 PDF 檔案轉換輸出成影像圖片格式(BMP, JPEG, TIFF, PNG) ，對於學術研究者來說相當實用，原創公司還提供了 Portable Version (免安裝便攜版本)供下載使用。
