請問用雙核CPU一定要安裝雙核修正檔嗎?

我目前是用K8 3000+ 版子是用技嘉M55plus-S3 (BIOS更新到F11了)
因為目前有想換成X2 5000+的打算
但是看到很多人說沒裝修正檔玩遊戲會有像突然加速的感覺
我去找修正檔 但是上面說只適用XP SP2
但是我的OS 是XP SP1(因為是X版,不能更新,現階段VISTA我又不想用,很多軟體相容的問題)
所以想請教是否有解決方法?(我朋友有用X2 3800+,沒裝修正檔,他只玩BBonline目前沒什麼問題)
